Analysis and experimental study of patch tube mechanical properties based on screen pipe hydroforming patch technology

Hydroforming patch technology for damaged screen pipes is designed based on tube hydroforming technology, and the methods determining forming pressure range defects are selected according to process. The model established technical demand parameters pipe repair. From mechanical properties of material digital–analog comparison analysis formability, it found that determiners formability (such as pressure, thinning rate, springback) 321 stainless steel (SS321) better than those 304L (SS304L), materials meeting requirements were selected. A test bench tubes was built verify with different thicknesses distribution wall thickness after forming. results show feasible can realize firm close fit between pipe; moreover, SS321 meet tube.
